A design refresh,
long overdue
Libraries are an essential part of our community, providing access to information, educational resources, leisure activities, and much more. This is the place for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together to learn, explore, and share ideas. We are staunch believers that nonprofits deserve gorgeous branding and engaging easy-to-use websites. When West Bend Library approached us for both, we couldn’t wait to start our next chapter together!

The Ask
It’s Time to Renew!
With experience building websites, Library Director Steve Thiry wanted a digital space that would be much easier to maintain and update on the back end. He also felt that an upgrade to the front-end user experience would improve navigation and content organization, thereby boosting engagement. Additionally, he suggested the overall design aesthetic could use a refresh, including the logo itself. We agreed that a contemporary approach to branding would align more with the library’s approachable personality and reflect the vibrant community.
The Answer
Novel ideas come to life
We started our engagement together by creating a brand that would be more versatile—we used a soft color palette and recognizable open-book icon that would resonate with all ages. Next up, we reorganized the sitemap for enhanced usability. Our web development efforts included updates to both the front-end design and a more user-friendly backend CMS and content builder. We improved the content organization, easy-to-view program and event calendar, Monarch catalog integration, plus a new community hub organized by audience group.

West Bend Library now uses its new brand logo and icon throughout the library, on signs, and in digital places like social media. The vibrant and friendly website experience has become a boon to members of all ages in the West Bend community. We had such a positive experience working with Steve and the WBL staff that we want to reach out to additional community libraries for a brand and/or website design partnership. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear more about your project!

WORKING WITH STREAMLINE JACKS WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE
When we started the project I was concerned about control and having the ability to change items that I thought would not translate into my vision. The Jacks did such a nice job that I don’t feel the need to change anything and still, they showed me how I could if I needed to…I look forward to working with Streamline Jacks again…
